Welcome to the site of the Sister Marie Laurence Primary School. Our school is one of the six Roman Catholic elementary schools of the Foundation for Catholic Education. on St. Maarten.
The school is situated in the district of Middle Region . It was founded in 1988 .This year we’ll be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the school. It is named after a nun, Sister Marie Laurence. She dedicated part of her life teaching the youth of St.Maarten. Later she became the president of the Roman Catholic School Board . Sister Marie Laurence is presently the head of the Congregation of Dominican nuns in the Netherlands.
Just like Sr. Marie Laurence, all our staff members enjoy working with children. At our school the students come first. Learning must be fun for everybody. We do not only stress on academic performance , but we also want to form our students to become good citizens. We emphasize on character building. Our school uses Dutch as the language of instruction.
We consider it of utmost importance to have a close relationship with all parents. Involving them in school matters will also contribute to a better performance of their children.
